I am a 42 year old female health teacher. I have had over the past week and a half right foot pain and swelling right below the third and fourth toes. The pain is stabbing at times and then eases up. The more active - the increase in pain/swelling. I can touch the bottom of my foot along that area which then causes a delayed reaction of pain on the top of my foot. The pain radiates upward towards the ankle on the right side. If I try and touch the top of the foot the pain is immediate with light touch. When resting/elevated there is a separation between the two toes. I had something similar this year that came and went within a week. I am on my feet most of an average day (on hard surfaces - cement/tile) and I am fairly active (walking 4-7 miles daily/biking, etc). I have been able to find some relief with elevation, ice and motrin. I also find that tight socks and sneakers are helping me to limp through a day. I go to the doctors tomorrow, but I wanted to have some ideas before I went. Thank you for your help. Jackie
