Thank you so much for your recommendations. I wanted to fill in some of the missing blanks that you questioned me about. I am 57 years of age and am in fair shape. I went to a podiatrist and she did say if I was still having problems to come back...I did not. I did not have an MRI either. I figured if the podiatrist couldn't see a broken bone there wasn't much anyone could do for me. After the accidents happened (severely stubbing my big toe and then dropping a 25 pound box on it)it hurt so BAD that I could hardly put a shoe on it. My son got married and I had to wear flats! That was in January 2017. It is now the beginning of May and the pain has definitely gotten better. It still hurts though! I retired after 31 years of teaching and am now a hostess for Chick-fil-A part time. My toe feels much better in my work shoe which is like a tennis shoe and you are right about going barefoot or wearing flip flops. They are the worst!! I guess what surprises me most is that it still swells in the area right below the big toe joint and it is over 4 months since it happened. I will try putting heat on it in the evenings. Another thing that you told me Dr., was that it takes the toe/foot a lot longer to heal than other parts of our body. I just pray that it does heal!!! Thank you again for your help. It is greatly appreciated!!
